Why Wongamat

Wano Sushi sits inside Wongamat Residence Condominium, on Naklua 16/3 Alley — a quiet residential street five minutes from Wongamat Beach. We chose this corner of Pattaya on purpose. Wongamat attracts long-stay residents and families who want food that's actually good, not just convenient. They come back. They tell their friends. That's how a restaurant earns a 4.9-star rating with 306 reviews.

How we source

Every morning before 5 AM, our supplier picks up fish at the Bangkok wholesale market — the same market several Bangkok omakase rooms source from. By the afternoon, the fish is in our cold case. By 15:00, it's on your plate. We don't freeze. What we don't serve that day, we don't serve at all.

This is why our salmon nigiri (6 pieces) tastes the way it does — same fish, half the price of Bangkok premium rooms. Same logic for our tuna sashimi and our hamachi.

How we plate

Our chef trained in the Edo tradition — the original Tokyo style where the chef cuts, presses, and serves in front of you. Our Signature Sashimi Platter is plated like a small art piece because that's what Edo asks for. The Tuna Crown Roll has a seared strip on top because that's how the tradition adds depth without hiding the fish.

We don't chase trends. We don't put 5 sauces on a roll. If you've been to a serious sushi room in Tokyo or Bangkok, you'll recognize the discipline. If you haven't, that's exactly what you came to Pattaya to experience.

Who we serve

Wongamat is international. Our regulars include Thai families, long-stay Russian residents, European tourists, and Bangkok food travelers who drive down for the weekend. Our menu, our staff, and our website all support Thai, English, and Russian equally — not as an afterthought, but because that's our actual room.
